The wine estate "Domaine la Prade Mari"is situated in the south of France, in the Languedoc region, especially in the wine growing area of the Minervois appellation. The Wine estate is at 25 km away from the city of Narbonne and 45 km away from the cities of Béziers and Carcassonne.

The 26 hectares of vineyards (including 24 ha within the Minervois wine region) are planted on the brown silt-clayey soil, snugly sheltered from the wind on the southerly slopes of eroded "Mourels". This exceptional terroir provides the optimum natural conditions for the Syrah, Grenache and Carignan varieties, as well as Mourvèdre and Viognier.

In 1964, Pierre Mari and his son Laurent left their farm (vineyards, olives, oranges & lemons) in the Algier region of Algeria. With nothing more than their wide experience and the will to succeed, they moved into the Domaine La Prade Mari and set about reconstructing a vineyard on land that was covered by olive groves, in the Minervois hills near the village of Aigne, on a series of rocky ridges covered in wild Mediterranean scrub and dotted with Aleppo pines and rosemary. The vines grow between the ridges in the marly soil of the depressions.

Today, his grandson Eric carries on the family traditions, so deeply rooted in the Mediterranean land, where though his profession as a vine-grower, he cultivates the spirit of his ancestors.
